There is a hidden place in the world that is reserved for the adventurous, for those with a free spirit and a longing for the serene, for the most beautiful........ This place is called Halibut Cove.

Located on the pristine northern waters of Alaska's Kachemak Bay, Halibut Cove is a small and remote artist community beckoning those looking to enjoy the rare and unique.

If you are searching for the raw and unspoiled theater of the wild yet still wish for the luxuries of civilization.... Halibut Cove is the place for you... and no one can better offer you that experience than STILLPOINT LODGE.

A bird watcher's paradise, our guests can expect the daily visits of local residents such as the bald eagle, the puffin, the cormorant, the arctic tern and countless other bird life. Be prepared to see... sea otters, seals, porpoise, and for the lucky the migratory whale. Black bear frequent the hillsides searching for food.

Nestled in the great mountain fjords and glaciers of the Kachemak Bay State Park STILLPOINT LODGE  offers the true Alaska experience.

Your trip begins in the quaint artist town of Homer, Alaska at the end of the road of U.S. Highway One and on spectacular Kachemak Bay. Homer offers an airport with a jet strip and regular daily flights from Anchorage, Alaska. From Homer, you glide across the bay on a comfortable catamaran to Halibut Cove and STILLPOINT LODGE. Within minutes you will see sea otters playing and feeding in the bay as well as abundant bird life.

Landing at STILLPOINT LODGE is like entering into a wonderful and mysterious picture book world. The grand lodge and 11 cabins cannot yet be seen from the landing, as they are hidden each in its own private location. Instead, you are greeted by the stillness of a lush forest of spruce, birch, willow and alder, sheltered by magnificent towering mountains. The only sound may be the wind and waves or perhaps a magpie or red squirrel announcing your arrival.

STILLPOINT LODGE was built in 2002 and sits on 11 acres surrounded by thousands of miles of state, federal and Alaska Native land. At one time the lodge was used as a creative and spiritual retreat for artists. And several of the amenities from those days have been held over, such as the dedicated meditation cabin. This Zen-influenced structure with its subtle lighting, pillowed floor, and meditative alcoves, is a perfect place to go for a bit of stillness or contemplation. The massage cabins are also peacefully lit so you can deeply relax during your included session with one of our trained massage therapists.

The cabins on the property were built with respect to preserving as many trees and natural features as possible, and so ended up in their own private settings... unseen by each other yet each with an ocean and a forest view. Wooden boardwalks or groomed trails lead to your night of restful sleep. Perhaps a great horned owl will call goodnight.

The main lodge is a masterwork of art. This wood structure boasts cathedral ceilings, artisan stonework, and a stream trickling through the main room, bringing a little touch of natural sound indoors. You will marvel at the giant, open kitchen complete with an adjoining greenhouse full of fresh herbs. This kitchen is the pride of the master chef there to please your palate with fantastic dishes, many including local seafood and vegetables fresh from their own organic garden.

Infinite miles of hiking trails surround  STILLPOINT LODGE... for your private getaway or to be enjoyed with our naturalist guides-- whether just a morning walk, or an adventurous trail to the high alpines, or perhaps to see beautifully blue Grewingk Glacier and its icy lake. Grewingk Glacier is an arm of the great Harding Icefield and a remnant of our last ice age.

A fleet of sea kayaks are available for use (with instruction of course) to paddle in the protected ocean waters of Halibut Cove and Halibut Cove Lagoon and even more kayaks to enjoy in the glacier lake nearby. Imagine paddling up quietly up to a raft of sea otters or a harbor seal and beautiful northwest birdlife such as loons and herons.

The goal at STILLPOINT LODGE is to offer you the Alaska wilderness with comfort, class and privacy. The friendly and professional staff offers genuinely personalized service. If you are seeking this type of retreat STILLPOINT LODGE is waiting for you.
A visit to Alaska is an experience of a lifetime, make yours more magnificent... at STILLPOINT LODGE – #1 among all inclusive resorts in Alaska."
