Start your day with a 25-minute flight from the lodge by floatplane. Experience wild Alaska as we maneuver through mountains with lush green valleys, over turquoise blue lakes, and past the second largest waterfall in the state. The flight will end in one of the many gloriously remote bays in the heart of the Kenai Fjords National Park, where a comfortable support vessel, your guides, captain, and crew will be eagerly awaiting your arrival.
Even though you will never be alone on your adventure, safety is paramount in the backcountry. Get fully outfitted in warm, top-of-the-line dry suits, helmets, gloves and neoprene boots. Everyone will be linked with radio communications, life jackets with water-activated strobes, and emergency locators. The guides will prep your group with a detailed safety briefing and tutorial on how to operate your jet ski for the day.
On the 18-mile cruise to the McCarty Glacier along the northwest shoreline, you’ll have the opportunity to see an abundance of sea life and panoramic vistas of waterfalls, beaches, alpine ridges, and rocky pinnacles that will leave you speechless. At the end of the fjord is the mighty McCarty Glacier that drops straight into the ocean. Carefully navigate through a maze of giant blue icebergs with plenty of time to take it all in and connect with marine life.
After hours of exploring the fjord, enjoy a delicious lunch and snacks aboard the support vessel and a soak in the hot tub. With a camera, heart and mind full of memories.... it’s time to head back to civilization. Return by floatplane to the lodge just in time for dinner. Once this journey is complete, you will have experienced a part of Alaska that has only been seen by the most adventurous visitors and residents alike.
