KITCHEN & BAR ASSISTANT

This strong, hardworking individual enjoys the physical work of stocking groceries, bar backing, and washing dishes, and appreciates learning from our chefs while assisting with routine meal prep and completing checklists of detail oriented cleaning.

Either you are already a pro at serving beer and wine and mixing classic cocktails, or you are a fast learner! Open bar is included and guests may order a bar drink at any time of the day. On busy bays, we may need extra help with bartending during happy hour and/or after dinner.

The kitchen assistant also helps pack boxed lunches for day trips and prepares food for the staff, as well. Culinary knowledge and familiarity with healthy cuisine, gluten-free, vegetarian and other special diets is essential.

Multiple employees work as dishwashers at our non-toxic dishwashing station makes this crucial job quite enjoyable. A job well done includes consistently maintaining a clean work station, responding to the needs of the chef, servers and bartenders and other kitchen staff, detail-oriented washing and cleaning, mindfully caring for locally handmade serving pieces, quickly mastering our meticulous organizational system, and beautifully polishing flatware and glasses. Frequent lifting and working quietly is required, as well as maintaining our recycling, compost and refuse systems.

Although each employee specializes in a specific job, you will be asked to also assist with busing, groundskeeping, gardening, landscaping, maintenance, portering, luggage, housekeeping, other kitchen duties and ongoing camp chores. This requires the ability to prioritize daily duties with flexibility and readiness to transition between jobs.
