NATURALIST GUIDES

Stillpoint employs guides who have experience with Alaska and/or the Pacific Northwest who thrive on inspiring and entertaining adults, teens and kids through preparedness, storytelling, team building, and educating others about the history, flora and fauna of our area and greater Alaska.

We employ strong, confident, knowledgeable and well-spoken guides with a passion for outdoor leadership and conservation. Stillpoint guides are at the ready to lead kayak, paddleboarding, and hiking day trips, deckhand and track and maintain an extensive recreational equipment inventory. The ability to understand the daily influences of the weather, wind and currents is required, as well as being comfortable with boats and aircraft. The days are especially long and demanding. Our guides have the energy to stay positive, entertaining and compassionate of the needs of the guests, and actively foster and embody the ideals of sustainability.

As naturalists, our guides use their experience and observational skills to avoid disturbing wildlife, keep our guests safe, and teach mindfulness and stewardship. We practice Leave No Trace and are dedicated to responsible tourism. Floatplane, helicopter and boating experience is a plus.

Although each staff member specializes in a specific job, you will assist with grounds keeping, landscaping, portering, recycling and refuse management, cleaning and ongoing camp chores. This requires the ability to prioritize daily duties with flexibility and readiness to transition between jobs.
