If Alaska is on your list of places to visit, you're not alone. As many are growing tired of the usual vacation, Alaska offers comething totally different with so many unique experiences and exciting excursions.

Stillpoint Lodge is a high-end adventure resort catering to guests seeking quiet reflection paired with breathtaking escapades. It is a second-generation, famnily owned and operated lodge that prides itself on being a 5-star green operation. Inside, you'll find the perfect balance of grand architecture, Alaskan artistry, Scandinavian styling, simple, nature-inspired design and a hint of Zen. It boasts the kind of upscale luxuries and eco-friendly amenities you don't expect to find at such a remote outpost.

Unlike most Alaskan lodges, Stillpoint is highly accessible. Just a short boat or floatplane trip across the towering mountain fjord of Kachemak Bay, you’ll find the exclusive Alaskan resort nestled on the edge of the wilderness. The majestic, fairytale-like village of Halibut Cove is home Stillpoint Lodge. The journey will melt stress away as you look for humpback whales, a plethora of sea birds, otters and seals. The lodge itself sneaks into view while you’re busy taking in the quiet, jade-green water and colorful homes dotting the cliffsides.

“Alaska is a bucket list destination for most jetsetters,” said JT Thurston, second generation owner. “By investing in our own sea and air transport fleet — coupled with our unique location — we’ve conquered the logistical barriers of sharing this raw, unspoiled part of the planet.”

The main lodge is a work of art with its cathedral ceilings and monumental stone masonry fireplace, where guests gather for family-style meals and conversation. An expansive deck out back looks out over the mountains and a beautiful garden that winds around a gravel pathway. Ten meticulously curated cabins fan out from the lodge, each with its own unique theme and artwork, much of it created by original Stillpoint owner Jan and Jim Thurston. Each cabin has a  front porch, the perfect place to sip morning coffee in contemplative bliss, listening to the chattering of eagles and the occasional roar of a boat engine.

Stillpoint can coordinate and cater excursions for private groups of up to 25. You and your party will have the opportunity to witness playful sea otters up close as you launch an ocean kayak or stand-up paddleboard right from the dock. Or, experience epic opportunities for whale- and bird-watching, bear viewing, tide pooling and world-class fishing, as well as exploring glaciers and mountains. For those looking for some self-care, massages, hot tub, sauna and yoga are all included with your stay. Kids are welcomed guests at the lodge, where they can help harvest vegetables, explore the nature trails and play on the beach. On clear evenings, the firepit is prepared for a bonfire and s’mores.

Big, bold days leave guests ravenous at mealtimes, and the top-notch Stillpoint culinary team exceed all expectations. Devour hearty local seafood specialties caught fresh. The paired organic fruit and vegetables are grown in the lodge’s garden and picked fresh, just steps from your dinner table.

You can truly disconnect and reconnect in the seaside village of Halibut Cove. This critical habitat area is home to a remarkably high level of biological activity, rich with history and known for its no-cars, no-roads policy. The community is enriched with high standards of fine cuisine, a liking for local brews, a strong love of land and sea, and hearty folk who understand that nature still reigns.
