Stillpoint Lodge: An Alaska Luxury Resort

Step onto the grounds of Stillpoint Lodge, and beauty abounds. Whether it’s within the Alaska lodge, with its magnificent architecture and majestic views, or adventuring on beautiful Kachemak Bay or atop a nearby glacier: Beauty is everywhere. Visitors are delighted by every aspect of this rustic, yet Alaska luxury resort, including in the kitchen, where the lodge’s chefs prepare three gourmet meals per day. Simply put, at Stillpoint Lodge, food is an art form. Cuisine is centered around local ingredients and modern concepts of the Nordic diet, including an abundance of vegetables from their organic garden and seafood caught by local fishermen, some of which operate right next to Stillpoint's private peninsula.

Stillpoint Lodge provides ample opportunity for sport fishing, targeting local species such as halibut, king salmon and rockfish. The lodge works with processors in Homer to have your catch filleted, vacuum packed, flash frozen and shipped (if requested) to your home. The Alaska lodge also works with local fishermen, who can ship a portion of their catch to your front door, anytime. We know there’s no comparison to the Alaska seafood you catch yourself, but when your supply starts to dwindle, that’s where Smart Source Seafood comes in.

My husband, Michael O’Laire, commercial fishes in Bristol Bay during the summer, and I direct market the catch all over the country. Bristol Bay is the world’s largest sockeye salmon fishery, and is one of Alaska’s most incredible, pristine natural resources. We process our sockeye salmon within hours of being caught to lock in the “just caught” taste, resulting in the best salmon you’ve ever tasted. We offer our sockeye salmon in 6-8 oz. portions and 1-2 lb. fillets and we ship our shares of salmon straight to your front door. Much like your local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) we offer a CSF (Community Supported Fishery) model where fish lovers can pre-order shares of our catch before our fishing season each year. Pre-orders are accepted April-June and we ship these shares after completing our fishing season in September. After we fill our pre-orders, we offer our salmon throughout the year, as long as supplies last. Occasionally, we offer locally caught wild Alaska cod and halibut as well.

Not only do we have a connection to Stillpoint Lodge through our seafood, but when Michael isn’t fishing, he works as a carpenter and has spent many winter months working on the beautiful buildings at the luxury Alaska resort. Lodge manager, Beka Thoning, and her family are dear friends of ours and we look forward to visiting the lodge each summer to soak up the solitude Stillpoint provides from the hustle and bustle of Homer.

We hope you catch a freezer full of delicious wild Alaska seafood during your stay at Stillpoint Lodge. When you notice your salmon supply dwindling, or if you’d like to add more to your catch, please consider ordering directly from Smart Source Seafood. Not only do we offer the most delicious wild Alaska seafood you’ve ever tasted, but we provide you the unique opportunity to know exactly where your seafood was caught, and to know your fisherman and his family.

We’re proud to offer you a share of our catch!
